Be Curious!
Welcome to scihigh, an outreach program bringing science to students from kindergarten to grade 12 in Toronto and surrounding areas. We want to show kids first-hand how exciting health research can be! Browse our site to find out who we are, how to book a visit to your school or community group, what to expect when we visit, and things you can try at home. We've also included links to other websites that you may find helpful and interesting.

Scihigh volunteers travel to Toronto area schools (at no expense to schools) to share their enthusiasm and love of science. Our volunteers are graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and staff at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute of Mount Sinai Hospital, the University of Toronto, and the Hospital for Sick Children. The primary focus of our presentations is genetics.

We also hold an annual Science Fair for intermediate students and Summer Internships for high school students. Please visit our students section of this website for more details on these programs.

Bienvenue à scihigh, un programme pour atteindre les étudiants de la maternelle jusqu’à la douzième année afin de promouvoir la science aux élèves de Toronto et  ses environs.  Nous voulons montrer aux enfants, de première main, comment la recherche en santé peut être passionnante!  Feuilletez notre site-web pour apprendre à nous connaître, comment réserver une visite à votre école ou à votre groupe communautaire, à quoi s’attendre lors de nos visites, et des expériences pratiques que vous pouvez effectuer vous-meme à la maison.  Vous y trouverez aussi d’autres liens vers d’autres sites-web utiles et intéressants.   

Les bénévoles du scihigh voyagent aux écoles de Toronto (sans aucun frais pour les écoles) pour partager leur enthousiasme et leur amour de science.  Nos bénévoles sont des étudiants en université, des thésards, ainsi que le personnel de l’Institut de Recherche Samuel Lunenfeld situé à l’hôpital Mount Sinai, et affilié avec l’Université de Toronto, et l’hôpital Sickkids.  Le principal objectif de nos présentations est de promouvoir et enseigner la biologie et en particulier la génétique.  

Nous organisons aussi une expo-science annuelle pour les étudiants intermédiaires, et des stages d’été pour les étudiants au secondaire.  On vous pris de visiter la section Étudiant de notre site-web pour des détails supplémentaires sur ces programmes.
